Dr. Danny Samson

Co-founder

Dr. Danny Samson is a highly esteemed Professor of Management at the University of Melbourne, where he has dedicated over three decades to academia. He has also gained extensive engineering experience over 35 years. Dr. Samson’s expertise spans various industries, allowing him to collaborate with senior executives and provide valuable insights.

At ESG Perform, Dr. Samson leverages his academic rigor, chemical engineering background, and extensive research to drive ESG innovation and leadership. He has spearheaded the design and implementation of innovative ESG scoring, measurement, and improvement approaches for listed companies, large private companies, and investment fund managers. His expertise is unparalleled in the field, surpassing even many world-leading consulting firms and individuals working on ESG compliance for listed entities and fund managers.

Dr. Samson’s professional accomplishments extend beyond academia. He has served as a board director and advisor to global business leaders in diverse industries, including food, building products, paper and printing, chemicals, processing, banking, engineering/construction, logistics, and many others. Notably, he has contributed his strategic management and business development expertise to renowned organisations such as Toyota, National Australia Bank, PETRONAS (Malaysia), and numerous others.

James Demetriou

Co-founding Director

James Demetriou brings a wealth of expertise as a senior executive, director, and specialist advisor in mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investments, and corporate governance. With a deep understanding of the business of sport and technology, he has made significant contributions to the Australian sports industry and holds respected positions in various organisations.

James has played key roles in mergers and acquisitions, specialising in cross-border investments in Australasia. His advisory services have been sought after by numerous large private and listed companies in Australia and Asia, with a focus on corporate governance and Asian investments.

Additionally, James possesses extensive knowledge of technology-driven performance evaluation across industries such as finance, education, real estate, and sports. He has actively represented the University of Melbourne, the Australian Sports Technologies Network, the Victorian Government, and Austrade in Asian conferences, trade missions, and international forums.

Notably, James is the Founding Chairman of the Australian Sports Technologies Network (AST), where he has contributed significantly to the advancement of sports business, sports governance, and sports technology in Australia. His involvement with the Essendon Football Club, both as a senior player and a Board Director, further highlights his deep connection and influence in the Australian sports community.
